This brought tears and goosebumps, not just for Red, who I loved-- but for our Pledge of
Allegiance that I have loved too.
I'm old enough to know that the Pledge of Allegiance could only contain 'under God' and without that, well, it lacked power and conviction. I liked the thrill of reciting it every morning at school.

How I loved Red! This video brought back memories of a little girl first going to school and learning the Pledge of Allegiance- thrilled with the goosebumps it gave me. When Red recited it the first time I thought there was something missing. Under God. How could our Pledge not contain the most important part, the power and the glory of God?

I really couldn't stand citing the Pledge of Allegiance every day. Only because they made us do it. I guess I'm very stubborn that way. Te he!

Great post Sandy. Countless millions sacrificed their lives for our freedoms. Oh how easy it is for some people to take important things for granted.

Red always ended his show with the words "May God Bless."

hey i loved it my son is taking the info to watch at school cause he liked it so well hes 11 by the way red sovine did this as a song if your interested hes country music it also was done beautifuly

Ooooh my goodness, I watched Red Skelton as a little girl
with all my bothers, sisters of course Mom & Dad. I'm tryin'
to hold back the tears which isn't so easy after hearing this.
What a timeless video this is, I thank you so much.
