Thanks for sharing...the numbers are growing daily...in my area we have one of the highest foreclosure rates...many with small children...Where is the help for all these displaced families or elderly going to come from?

I believe awareness is a great start.

When thinking of ways to help the needy, we tend to focus on financial contributions, but unless you're independently wealthy donating money is simply not an option. Besides, it's not as satisfying.

We find it very satisfying to donate time at a local shelter. Getting to know the people you're helping and hearing their stories makes a tremendous difference in both theirs and your life.
