Jack, even the Messiah occasionally misspeaks. I heard his remarks, noticed it and continued listening to the press conference.
It was a minor blip on the radar screen, one that was quickly overshadowed by his excellent Supreme Court nominee choice.
Her confirmation will be a slam dunk. Take my word on it.
Thanks for posting to our group, Barack Obama's Presidential Appointments, Bills and Policies.
Lloyd
Llyod, I said CLEARLY, it was a mistake and EVERYONE makes mistakes.
The point is, WHY DOESN'T THE PRESS OR THE COMICS OR ANYONE ELSE for that matter, make fun of him like they made fun of Bush????
We all know the answer to that one.
> We all know the answer to that one.
jJack, I submit that "we all" don't know what you are TALKING about -- if you won't come out and SAY it.
By your logic: "We all know why you DIDN'T."
<heh heh heh>
I didn't see the press conference, so thanks. As far as the media/pundit passes on his gaffes... well perhaps when the honeymoon is over? Don't ask me when that is.... ha!
yeah, honeymoon *chuckle*
Well, what can one expect from a 12 year old President who has never worked a day in his life?
Good one *chuckle*
Hahaha.
LOVE IT!
Thanks for sharing!
My pleasure *chuckle*
You bet I know why. "They" say he's only been in office a short while. "They" say cut him a break. :) Obama cannot say anything without his teleprompter. That's pretty obvious. But to point out his mistakes? Why that would be racist, don't you know?
well that's one explanation of course *chuckle*
That is because President Obama's gaffes can't compare to ex-President George Bush's ones.
Have you forgotten?
"There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again." —Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 17, 2002.
How about this one?
"Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB-GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country." —Poplar Bluff, Mo., Sept. 6, 2004
And this one:
"I hear there's rumors on the Internets that we're going to have a draft." —second presidential debate, St. Louis, Mo., Oct. 8, 2004
The difference is that ex-President George Bush was blatantly incompetant.
President Obama's gaffes don't rise to the same level. Race has nothing what so ever to do with it. Let's not use it as an scape goat.
How funny would it be to say, "hey did you hear what President Obama said"?
"What?"
"Something about the U.S. being around for 2000 years."
Wait till Obama's been in office for 8 years, IF he makes it that long.
God forbid!
*chuckle*
"Hail to the Chief" by George W. bush & John McCutcheon

Simple: Bush misspoke many times, Obama rarely.
Weren't Bush's awkward blunders part of his charm?
Leo, this is just the first time I've bothered to post one of his gaffes. The fact is, the guy misspeaks all the time. I've heard him made at a minimum a dozen verbal gaffes since he's been in the White House.
Please post all his mistatements and we'll all judge just how hilarious they really are.
Sorry Lloyd, I'm not as anal as you are, and I don't consider Obama an enemy, like you consider Bush/Cheney and enemy, and therefore I don't keep little, silly lists, of all my complaints about Obama.
When you first started posting here, I thought you might be an open minded person.
I know now, you're nothing more than a partisan HACK.
I saw a list during the campaign of gaffes made by Obama, McCain, Biden and Palin. The ones by Obama were pretty funny, but the liberal media never picked up on them. Of course.
Sounds like I hit a nerve. Thanks for the compliment,.
Here's a blog that has some great video clips of some Obama gaffes:
Obama Gaffes
In one, he doesn't know the name of one of his own cabinet members.
Hit a nerve ??? *ROFL*
What you "hit" was the "repulsive" button ace, not a nerve.
I never voted for Bush, I voted for Obama, and I can tell you what issues I still support Obama on, and the issues I supported Bush on, and I can tell you why--- all you can do is spew hate filled invective at Bush and Cheney.
I see both sides of the aisle, YOU see, only what you want to see.
A partisan HACK, and not worth listening to.
A nerve ???? *ROFL* You can't even aim straight fella.
Marilyn, of course Obama has made plenty of mistakes.
10 Gaffes by Obama and Biden These are since the election. There is a link on the page for gaffes made before the election as well.
Slew of Gaffes by Obama Okay, these are old ones - before May, 2008.
Barack Gaffes
Barack Obama Doesn't Do Gaffes. Right.
"I see both sides of the aisle, YOU see, only what you want to see."
Is allowing someone to say that race is the reason that we don't see or hear about these gaffes seeing both sides of the aisle when you and I know that's not true?
I listen and read hours of Barack bashing on a daily basis. No one is afraid go after him. It's a convenient excuse used by many upset with the President's popularity.
Until then, calm down and take a deep breath. I often receive opposing points of views to my posts without resorting to the name calling.
Is allowing someone to say that race is the reason that we don't see or hear about these gaffes seeing both sides of the aisle when you and I know that's not true?
I don't know that it's not true, in fact, I think it plays a LARGE PART in why they don't make fun of Obama. They don't want people like YOU calling them racists.
You might "read" what you call "bashing" of Obama, but you probably do it on BLOGS, unless of course you'd like to SHOW us some examples of the MAINSTREAM MEDIA making fun of Obama-- but I doubt you can do that, even with your anal retentive nature of keeping stupid lists.
As for your LUDICROUS attempt to cast me as something other than "calm" -- that's just another STUPID way partisan HACKS like YOU attempt to belittle those that disagree with you. You say there's no need for "name calling," and yet you try to cast me as some raving maniac that needs to "take a breath."
I have just two letters for you and your condescending comments, F.O. -- and I hope you know what that means.
Next time you want to tell someone to "calm down and take a breath," remember that's just another stupid tactic by stupid people to attempt to denigrate the person you're talking to.

Thanks for all the links Marilyn ! ! ! !
> They don't want people like YOU calling them racists...
Awwww.
"They" can dish it out, but not take it, eh?
Thanks for sharing, ,..
thanks for reading *chuckle*
Nobody remembers that at FIRST, newspapers quoting Bush would NOT repeat his gaffes but edit and write what he really meant to say.
After awhile, they realized he was an idiot and just let him be one.
Comparing Obama to Bush? Come on, you're not that psychotic!
I was comparing Bush and Obama, to one and all, everyone, all humans, because we all make mistakes, even your boy Obammie.
And uh, not for nuttin' but HOW COULD YOU POSSIBLY KNOW what you suggest you "know?"
Having a President who recognizes mistakes he's made -- and tries to learn how not to make them again -- is preferable to one who cannot recall making any.
