Today, May Day 2009, as I was out exploring a couple rummage sales, I happened across this fellow, enjoying his freshly caught lunch. I had to zoom past optical range, but it's still a nice video of one of our finest predators.. the fish hawk..AKA.. the Osprey.

Thank you Elizabeth! This is the 2nd Osprey I've watched dine, in the same area, to be exact. Their nest is very close to the road and right next to "Horseshoe Slough".

Thank you Sally. I love to find new birds to photograph, but even old "friends" like the Osprey are really fun to watch and listen to. He was too busy eating to get his call. He and the mate are almost always talking back and forth.

I think, if I look, I have a video of a hawk, dining on a gopher or huge mouse. It's further away, but still not too shabby.

Summertime is my busiest time and with my body failing on me, faster each year, I'd love to retire and do nothing but get back into my carving and other hobbies. Maybe even take up oil painting.
