This morning, March 27, 2009, Member of Parliament, Holger K.Nielsen, stated: "Anders Fogh Rasmussen is not the man to become the next General-secretary of NATO... His [Fogh Rasmussen's] handling of the Mohamed-caricature conflict, his manipulations leading to the Iraq War and his close political cooperation with the [generally considered racist] Danish People's Party makes him unsuitable to become NATO's General-secretary... It is critical that we have a General-secretary who is free of possible negative attitudes towards Muslims."
Nielsen is a primary spokesperson for the opposition party-block to Fogh Rasmussen's ministerial administration. The Danish press this morning was surprised by his statement, since it politically could benefit the opposition party-block were Fogh to leave Denmark for the NATO post. "Yes," agreed Nielsen, "we would really like to get rid of Fogh Rasmussen from Danish politics. We need a rest from him. But I am deeply concerned for NATO's ability to succeed [with our battle against terrorism] in the Muslim world."
In recent polling, Fogh Rasmussen's party block has lost its nine-year popular support, 83 to 92 mandates. This may mean that Denmark will soon have its first-ever woman prime minister, Helle Thorning-Schmidt.
I live in Denmark and have watched the whole Caricature crisis very closely.
There are many reasons why Anders Fog Rasmussen should not be secretary general of NATO.
He is extremely arrogant and self centered politician. NATO is an alliance which requires a good diplomate who listens and seeks compromises
His handling of the crisis, very rudely rejecting to meet 11 Muslim ambassadors who wanted to help him to calm down the situation and insisting that he sees no harm that people can be insulted in the name of freedom of speech
His has made alliances with a racist party and used its votes to rule Denmark for 10 years. During his rule, Denmark has become one of the most anti-Islam societies in the world.
He supported IRAQ invasion which was illegal and have killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people.
Can you imagine that a man so anti-Islam, would be able to do business with leaders of Pakistan, Iraq and Afghanistan where NATO is involved? No leader in a MUslim country would like to stand besides this self possessed man.
In light of these facts, it would be catastrophe to have him as NATO’s top man.

So each cell – each individual with an ego - either works towards the sustaining of the organ. - our planet - or like a cancer that might begin with a single error in one cell, individuals might be driven by the delusion of a personal ego into narcissistic activities that drains the resources of local organs and eventually the planet herself, which then would mean the eventual death of even the cancer itself. Only by understanding this ethnobiological context of human life, either through empiric science or simple empathic intuition can one grasp the significance of each one of our personal actions.
So perhaps now by being directly exposed to the Muslim world, with its huge pools of unfair suffering, can Fogh through his coming NATO experience and Turkey's participation open his eyes a bit from the provincial narcissism of his Danish egocentricity coupled with his multinational socioeconomic policies that have for the past 8 years decimated the Danish social landscape. We can only hope that the end product of Fogh's nomination as secretary-general of NATO will result in a good learning curve for the planet.
Through my personal experiences, observations and study of life, I'm a strong believer that even the worst mistakes on this planet can make us all – individually and collectively – stronger and wiser. Though while in the midst of these stupid and historically recurring mistakes that cause such unnecessary suffering it often can be very difficult to separate the perceptions of individual reactive egos from the big picture. One can even see this in the way by which exposure to parasites the human body learns to better survive (if these events aren't taken *personally*, ie. demonized) The human brain truly is evolutionarily primed to that end if we only would better nurture our young, regardless of... and actually due to... ethnic background. Each ethnic pool on this planet comes with an incredible bit of history to the benefit of everyone.
