Milton Friedman on greed...

Milton Freedman was one of the better (not best as he gave us tax withholding but pretty good on balance) economists for the last half century. He was witty enough to hold his own on TV shows and even get invited to the Phil Donahue show. Of course that was when Americans actually wanted to learn things, even if necessary from their political opponents. He was a Noble Prize winner, not from defending a disproved archaic 16th century theory like mercantilism ( as did Paul Krugman) but in standing up for the market system and its importance in the world in the 20th century.

Smart man. Man is greedy, each of us would try to keep it if we had it to keep. I'm not sure I agree with that completely because I've given away a great deal of money to people who will never be able to pay me back and I'm not expecting a payback.
