Dec. 12/13 2008. w/ Voices in the Sky soundtrack. A very special full moon, in its proximity and capture. From on top of Copenhagen's Vestvolden (Western Moat), a forested region that surrounds Greater Copenhagen. Here is where I live. The December full moon was very celebrated in ancient rituals. Video is a reworking of an analog scene precisely like this one in the multimedia production - "Cosmic Indictment" - a planetarium production I authored, photographed and co-produced with permission of the Moody Blues.

My dear Bent - Of course, you know how much I love this - absolutely riveting - gorgeous - bucolic - brilliant - and totally artistic - creative, captivating - in other words, I love it and you picked the perfect sound-track to go along with this moon waltz with the clouds - I will probably watch it tonight after some wine and then go out and talk to Mother moon - I have been watching her lately - she's sent me some really good profound messages - jarred my memory and of course, given me many many memories of mama and I on the front porch gazing upon the bayou moon...thank you Bent - as always, I appreciate your work - thoughts - deeds and spirit! Spectacular, Bent. I especially love the sense of luminosity here, that isn't apparent in a live look at the moon. It makes me feel a live and power, as if the moon were actually shining of itself rather than simply reflecting. And the music is spot on. Great! :-)

Your lovely capturing of this most special Lunar passage added much to my evening tonight. Something particularly special this December '08. Feels as though it bodes well for glad change in the seasons ahead. Thank you for sharing your view across the large puddle between us.

I worked at a planetarium, and was the author, photographer and producer of a multimedia production, and got permission to use the music for the scene that had only a full moon in the frame.

What an incredible video. I'm not sure whether this is deliberate, but the clouds passing over the face of the moon make it look like the moon is transparent and rotating!

For a minute there I thought I was seeing the dark side of the moon-- the side that never faces earth.

Thank you everyone, for your comments. It's always nice to hear gratitude. But really, it's me that's grateful. Even if I had all the money in the world, I could never have orchestrated and directed that light show from the sky. I was there at just the right moments with the right equipment, and there were two layers of thin clouds softly, and sometimes not so softly, going in two different directions, in a rhythm with the light of the moon doing things with shadows and densities and hues, almost like a dance with veils before the moon. Looking into the camera's screen, I was awed by what I saw, and simply left the camera alone on the tripod, moving it every few minutes since, well, we all know that everything in the universe revolves around the Earth. Sorry... just my Danish humor.

This is a fine piece of work.
I tried to take some photos of the full moon here in New Brunswick, Canada, but only managed to get some squiggly blobs. At sub-freezing temperatures, I couldn't hold the camera still.
