The Undeniable's Debut At The Renowned Cat Club On The Sunset Strip....................
............................................................................... On my last night in Los Angeles on a bit of business, I stumbled across a flier for a band called, ‘The Undeniable,’ which honestly piqued my curiosity for finding hot new up and coming bands. As it stated, the show was an early one beginning at 8PM. I thought I could quickly stop in and check it out, and be back in my hotel room in enough time to catch some winks before my early flight the next morning..................... When I arrived at the infamous Cat Club, which proudly adorns West Hollywood's Sunset Strip, I noticed that there were about a handful of people eagerly awaiting for what was promising to be quite an impressive live showcase. I was not surprised to see that The Undeniable was not the only band that night, and was in fact one of the opening acts for the head-liners, Starfuckers, who incidentally consists of members of GNR, The Ramones, and one of the members of The Stray Cats, who also just happens to own the bar as well.................... As I sat nursing my beer, my eyes glanced over pictures scattered on the walls of some of the finest musicians in the biz such as The Rolling Stones and Alice Cooper, (to name a few), who just so happened to have played there as well.................... At about a quarter till 9PM, the bartender told the first act, “The Undeniable,” to take the stage. I sat patiently as I waited for the other members of the band to arrive, but I soon learned that this one man, was the band, “The Undeniable!” He opened with a cute joke about his "invisible band" and then out of nowhere the music began. I was surprised to hear such "live-sounding" music it was obviously a prerecorded CD..................... Now usually I would have gotten up at this point in disgust, but I have to admit, once again my curiosity was piqued. My insane thirst for something new and exciting kept me on pins and needles. As a veteran of the entertainment industry and an entertainment columnist, I have seen many live acts in my time, but I can honestly say that I have never had one sole performer actually make me believe that I was indeed watching a live rock show. The Undeniable's music was far better than just "live" it was in fact, "Alive!"..................... From the minute he took the stage with his opening song, "Rock N Roll Star," an 80's New-Wave, Pop-Punk anthem, to some rather tongue-in-cheek hard driving numbers like, "Evil Creep" & "I Surrender Al,l" to the more melancholy "We Wait,” I was captivated. Though there was really only a handful of people there, The Undeniable played to them as if it was a room of 5000! His unique vocal stylings and animated stage persona gave the illusion of a full fledged good ole rock and roll show. The Undeniable confidently proved that you do not need a live band to put on a killer show!.................... If the screams, hoots and hollers that he was getting throughout the show were any indication of this one man's powerhouse crowd commanding performance in this quaint little club on the Sunset Strip, then I shudder to think about the damage he could do in a much bigger venue!.................... I tried to hang around for the other shows, but was not impressed enough to stay, and had a long day ahead of me. I thought to myself, “The next time I'm in town I will have to check out The Cat Club again for some more great live acts.”.................... As I reached my hotel room, I looked over the flier for the show again. He was from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I wondered why a guy so talented had traveled all this way, but then again, it was Pittsburgh. I looked up his myspace page (myspace.com/undub) and saw that he had quite an impressive repertoire of songs and videos that kept me entertained for hours. I also read that his a debut album cleverly, but not surprisingly titled "Rock N Roll Star" was to be released in the very near future. You can bet I'll be one of the first people to buy it!.................... So that night I went to bed much later than I had originally planned, with thoughts of Rock -N-Roll Stars, Leather Punk Rock Boys, screaming fans, and fond memories of my night spent with The Undeniable........................................ You have a beautiful voice. Did you sing Man No One Sees? That song strikes me as a sort of counterpoint to I Surrender All.
How about sending the video of Man No One Sees as well?
