The Secret Garden - Copenhagen

There are actually many such apartment architectures in Copenhagen, with a garden enclosed on all four sides by the connected houses. This is a very unknown feature to Copenhagen by most tourists, since everyone generally walks by these impressive, centuries old facades, admiring the outer architecture but without walking through an often arched entry. After the Industrial Revolution, industrialists began redesigning small factories or industry in one or two of the buildings, the owner and his family would take up a house, and the workers were sardined into tiny apartments or dormitories... sometimes even as indentured slaves. This video takes you into a garden that truly held a gem of a secret.

I lived in Amsterdam in the 1970s and this video reminds me of that time.
