The Republicans say that it doesn't matter that Sarah Palin has absolutely no national political experience because she has "executive experience". What executive experience? She has been mayor of the village of Wasilla, which had a population between 2,000 and 4,000 people when she was mayor. That's supposed to qualify her to become President when the elderly John McCain drops dead? Get out of here!

The proper way to address her is Govenor Palin.
Don't you have any comments of substance? Any possible explanation, for example, Dan, about how being the mayor of a village of just a few thousand people qualifies as executive experience preparing her to be President of the United States?
Of course, you can't. That's why you're just hurling the insults.
So when does one become too old to serve? Biden is 65ish, right? When will he be too old, in your opinion? Just curious.
McCain has had skin cancer. That doesn't mean he's going to die. My father-in-law has had the same kind of skin cancer. He's now 87 and had his problem in his 70s too. He's not obese. He doesn't have a heart problem. What makes you think he won't last for 4 years?
BTW, his medical records were released back in May - about 1000 pages. Time reported on that. The doc said that no one can predict when anyone will die and that he could serve with vigor. His heart is that of a younger man. The cancer on his face was so long ago now that there's less than a 10% chance of recurrance.
She serves the same purpose that Republican running-mates have served since at least as far back as Nixon.
First, during the election, she is a draw for votes from people who are easily distracted by irrelevancies ("She's a woman" "and a very pretty one at that!" "And a Mom" "And a Cultural Conservative" "and an Evangelical Christian"...) [all the while forgetting that the office for which she is being offered has no bearing on Culture or Evangelism...] while overlooking the fact that, if they depend on their labor for their livelihood, they are voting AGAINST their own economic interests whenever they advance the Republican Agenda.
Second -- and most importantly -- if the Republicans take office, she will serve as an Impeachment Shield for the President. When the criminal behavior begins, Congress will be forced to think long and hard about whether they want to risk elevating the -- obviously unqualified -- Veep to the Presidency.
Ike had Tricky Dick to shield him from charges of ineffectuality. Nixon had Agnew (which didn't work: Agnew -- fortunately -- had a gaping vulnerability; getting rid of him first was not terribly difficult and well worth it). Reagan had Bush Senior (although he didn't need to play that card, since General North took the rap for them) to protect him from being indicted for Iran / Contra.
Bush Senior (I didn't say the Veep was unelectable, merely unqualified; Congress can tell the difference even if the American People can't) of course, had Danny Quayle and now Shrub has (Ugh!) Cheney.
Should McCain (shudder!) become President, once the shenanigans begin, Sarah Palin will be his insurance against impeachment.
Now it all makes sense, doesn't it!
