Red-headed woodpeckers, a bird once common to Minnesota, are in serious decline. A new group is developing plans for saving the bird's favorite habitat: dead trees. Lance Nelson took this video of a young Red-headed Woodpecker leaving its nest, apparently for the first time. He explains it to Chet Meyers, who is heading up a recovery project for the birds.
