July 25, 2008 I May Be Leavin' (Songs From Scratch Vol. 2)

I spent some time trying to feel the flow of the lyrics given - tried to find the rhythmical intent. From there I came up with a riff. I finished the music and the order of chorus/bridge/etc. Then I mimicked the pattern of the given lyrics, while adding my own rhyme distinction - but I didn't want to be held to it strictly - so in the second verse, I allowed myself to flow more with the lyrics. And Voila =P
Lyrics:
(Adam's lyrics)
It'd be kinder to know that I couldn't stay. Emerald eyes invoked by the romance of this place. Colors brighten every horizon as I travel on yellow stone. I may be leavin' but I'll just keep breathin' and let the music flow. let the music flow. -- I headed down south, where I met a man burnin' from the sun. He asked, 'whatcha doin' hun? whatcha doin' hun?' I politely replied that I was not lost. He said, ' you may be headed in the right direction but at what cost? You have no strength, you have no courage, and your heart is old. Take me with you and I'll protect you and lead you safely home.' So we headed on, side by side, arm in arm. I don't know why, but when I looked in his eyes, my fear was gone. -- My mind is clear, I tried to be, something that I could not - someone that I could not have. I no longer need, these shoes upon my feet to fit anyone - to prove to anyone. There is no turning back now, I have to be strong and remember that I'm not alone. Cuz I'm heading home.
