Wicked Woman

I did Songs From Scratch last year and wasn't too excited about the variety of songs (including myself). So, I got really fired up when I heard that P.O.S. was doing a song. That's when I decided to write an electronic song along the lines of what I'm doing these days. I sat down and came up with some ideas for bass lines and some leads, then I started phrasing out lyrics. When writing a song I usually start with musical ideas and hum along melodies while filling in lyrics along the way. So, in a way it was different doing this, because I had to hum melodies with the lyrics already in place. I did multiple mixes and came back to the song many times to change certain things, be it drum sounds, synth sounds, arrangement or even the length of delay on one of my bus tracks. I usually work with my own voice, but I just moved back to MN and my sister, Maggie, lives here so I asked her to do the vocals for the track. She has a beautiful voice and I figured this would be a great opportunity to exploit her wonderful talent. I work with Logic and most of this was "in the box" but I love to record guitars and my own bass. I do all the programming and recording myself but I'm always seeking musicians to explore with.
