First of all how cruel of the matron of the orphanage. I know well how it is to be the ridiculed, the scorned, the butt of jokes. I was not an orphan but I and my siblings were very abused and I was the victim of incestous lechers in my family. Both grandfathers and later my own dad. I think you were quite a cute little boy personally. Keep writing and thanks for the uplifting encouraging video it is first rate I am giving you 10+ and A+

When I saw the title of the video, I thought it would be like an informational promotion.
That's to say, that I thought it would be full of pointers on how to be a writer.
Or maybe it would be humorous, or tongue in cheek.
But, then, I watched, and I was wondering, what does this story you're telling have to do with being a writer?
At the end is the only time I saw the point.
I am not trying to be cruel, just honest.
I thought the title didn't fit the piece and I wished I hadn't watched.
Yes, your story is touching..
But, I was honestly bored.
That is only the only reason I am rating this below a ten.

You and I are a lot a like, not in our lives but in how we think and process. It often amazes me how i can step outside myself and write something so beautiful but can't spell to save my life. It just means we were meant to share it! :-)

Thank you so much for making this video. My grandfather grew up in an orphanage, and it was so bad he never would talk about it. And my 15-year-old son has big ears, just like his father. He says he is proud of them because his father "gave" them to him. His father passed away in 1998 when he was five. You are truly and inspiration.

Roger, thank you. This video was simply awesome. Probably the best on I've seen on Gather. I love your 'can do' attitude. You have accomplished so much when you could've easily taken another route after the abuse you had to live with during your childhood. Good for you. What an inspiration you are. Again, thank you.
