How to Love (or at least like) Your Hair

You are brilliant! Even, in spite of, and especially with your curly hair! I loved this! Excuse me while I watch it again ...

That's great! I have a love/hate life, and have gotten to the point where I mostly love my hair. ;)

Oh this was fantastic! I'm the type that used to go in wanting that nice curly sorta wavy hair get a perm and have tight curls. LOL

I've since stopped trying to do anything special with it. It's long - down to my backside and I just wash it and pull back into a pony tail. My hair's happy, and I'm just dealing with it all.

Needless to say I can relate to this.

I can relate. I have red hair and hated the attention it brought. "Oh, where'd you get that lovey red hair?" Even as a kid I just wanted to say, "It just grew there you moron!!". My mother was a bit sensitive about it since I was adopted. She told me to tell those nosey people that the angels gave it to me. Oh, and my freckles were angel's kisses.

I finally love my red hair, but now it's losing the color. Isn't life ironic?

I can relate somewhat. I had board straight hair until I hit puberty. The funniest thing happened, it was the time of madonna and I wanted hair like hers. (Think of the videos for Holiday and Lucky Star) I went and got the perm. It didn't take.....my hair was still straight, then we got it done again.....and I have never had straight hair again. I guess it was just at the same time as my hair was changing, but it has never been straight again. Maybe it was having it straight for so long, but I love it.

Now, if I could just get over it being a kind of auburn/blond....that would be a miracle!

I think it's funny that people with curly hair often want to straighten it, and people with straight hair often want to curl it. I don't know how many times I have gone to a salon to get a perm. In fact, I was considering it fairly recently.... I love your hair!

I cant stand my hair. I have REALLY thick hair and it sucks.

It is SO great to hear your comments!! And to see I'm not alone with this stuff!! My head always told me it is just us curly head girls who suffer with this - or the red heads, like the heroine of my book, hello MaryBeth! - so it is kind of amazing to see my straight hair sisters relating, too. Don't y'all realize y'all have perfect hair??!!! Okay, actually, we all have perfect hair, we just need to remind each other. And that is another thing I love about us girls, is that we do. y'all are great. Where were y'all during all my angst filled years??!! I needed gather then!!

I had an art show at Tommy Tang's in Melrose!!!! Do you know Tommy - the famous cooking chef? Well, he has a great place and I had a show and National Enquier showed up because Fame magazine was having their big debut opening too - (it didn't last)! Anyway, see we could have had fun comparing hair - because I did have hair like yours! Yes, it took 2 back to back piggy back permanents - plus a regular perm to frizz the living crap out of my straight stick hair...and that's what I looked like in 1980...but alas 40 hair dos later - I'm like you - gonna stick with my hair and love it - white streak (yes imagine the angels had fun that night)! and all...

y'all are so sweet. This is so making lemonade from lemons - my hair being the lemon of my life forever!! then I realized, if I have to live through it, I mays well (as we say down here!) use it!! So this is my "since I can't beat it, join it - sorta!" video. I'm happy to see that people relate. Though if you have straight hair and don't like it, I have one word for you that I hope will make you grateful - curls!! ;)
