At 6:30 p.m., local media were reporting that the line to get into the Xcel Energy Center - where Barak Obama is to speak tonight - that line had grown to 1.2 miles. At about that time it came into view below our highrise condo, wound around the corner and continued to grow down 7th Street, and turn again down Robert Street. The people kept coming and coming. The line is at least 15 blocks long. We can only hope he'll wait for them all to get in. We can only hope that the arena can hold them all.
I can see off down the street to the arena, and if there were any protesters down there in any numbers, I could hear them. I can't see any. I can't hear any. Just people lined up for miles to get in and cheer.

Rhonda, the fire marshall here reported 17,000 people inside (that's capacity) and another 15,000 standing outside. If there were no Obama, I'd be gaga for Clinton, but he's it. I think he'll make and outstanding president.
Thank you, Bridget. I wish the wind hadn't carried my voice away the way it did. But, I guess mediocrity on the main page is better than no main page exposure : )
I would not have waited in line!
Don, April and Jan - I couldn't wait in that long line. No way. I didn't get off work until it was 8 blocks long anyway, and that would have placed me squarely outside.
