Faith Burns was driving in her car recently when she heard a radio program hosted by conservative Jason Lewis, who said homeowners facing foreclosure didn't deserve a bailout. Burns doesn't have a cell phone, so she couldn't call in to say what was on her mind. Here's what she would have said.

Good post. I agree, the government should have stopped predatory lending before this all happened.

I guess what bothers me is that so many people have purchased homes that they knew (they had to know!) they couldn't really afford. People used to know that they had to buy small homes first, if they bought at all. When they had equity and had saved up some more money, they could get a bigger home. Now, young people think they should start out with what their parents have worked hard for - for years. It makes no sense to me.

Seriously? The government is what started this whole "predatory lending" garbage in the first place, when they started threatening banks with lawsuits for not offering mortgages to people with crummy or no credit!

How quickly people forget!

More government is NOT the answer, which is Jason Lewis' entire point. Sob stories or not, this is reality.
