Last week PBS ran back to back episodes of "Amerian Masters". The first was on Pete Seeger, who I have been fortunate enough to see live several times. The second was on Woody Guthrie. I was reminded that I knew one of his songs. He might be amused that one of his songs remains topical. A couple of months ago I caught an episode of Amerian mastersfeaturing Les Paul. Outstanding. Keep your eyes open.

Bill, Do you have a dog? There was the unmistakable sound of a dog shaking it's head and rattling the tags on it's collar. Great song. Thanks for bringing it to us.

John Mellencamp did a cover of this song too.
One of my favorite "Woody" songs!

The Mellencamp cover was included on a tribute album, a dozen or so of Woody's songs done by contemporary artists. Think it came out in the early to mid-8o's or so.
