My newest tattoo! Day of the Dead sugar skull

I know some of you aren't too keen on tattoos, but this is the only vice I have. Well, tattoos and GATHER, LOL! I had the beginning part of this one done on October 22nd, but was only able to complete the black outline and the blue background. I went back a few days ago and had the rest of it done. I get inked by Dave Lum in Salem Oregon who is one of the best tattooists in the nation and he's all mine! Every time I receive a new piece of art from him, I'm completely blown away. This was drawn completely freehand straight on my skin and I was under the needle for a total of about 7 hours. This particular piece (a sugar skull/Day of the Dead skull) represents the people that I have lost in my lifetime. All my loved ones, forever memorialized on my skin. Even if you don't care for tattoos, you have to at least care about the meaning behind them. Thanks for looking!

I have not taken the tattoo plunge myself, but my husband has several. One day....I will.
The hardest part is trying to figure out what I want and where.
I myself prefer black and maybe one color... :) but that is just me.
Does Dave Lum have a website? Or is there a website to the shop he works out of? The only two I have been to in Salem are Jori Zan's (I think was the name) and another one that is either on Center St. or really close to it. Both times I was just there for piercings, and they were fast, not real "get to know you" experiences.
Eventually I will be looking to get a decent sized coverup done on my back, at least the size of my hand to cover an old outline that I never had finished... long story there.
I am thinking either angel wings (LOL) or having an artsy splash design done that I drew and have my children's names added to it.
I guess I am still in the real "thinking it over" stage... Since I am not huge on tats I want to know I will love the couple I need to get to coverup a couple of stupid kid mistakes. LOL. Ah, well, we all grow up eventually.......
