Tom, your "probably never" comment short-changed the politicians who do care, who do ask, and who do listen. They exist. I've had politicians call to ask my position and make themselves available to answer my questions - within the last few months even. I hope the ones you've recruited to Gather are planning to answer questions at some point, and to at least read the comments that they have not made available to the public and respond privately.
I agree with Jonathan -- I am having a lot of trouble watching this video because the music is making me cringe, first of all. Pretty hard to take seriously when the background noise sounds like an SNL parody of sincerity. Is there somewhere that the answer is written down so that I can skip the video? The schmaltz is just too much, and now that it's finally over, it didn't really answer my questions about how this is supposed to work anyway.
