A few years ago, I spent some time trying to learn how to read a river for purposes of kayaking without capsizing, but we concentrated on the river as a whole, for obvious reasons.
Dannielle--you make me wonder if it's possible to read the river for survival and still see some of that mysterious motion. I've never kayaked yet but you make me think about it more!
And saw, as noted there, how at its very simplest (Herakleitos level ;-] ), life is the flow of water combined with wise obstructions. Utterly complex in "molecular cell biology" but utterly simple at the highest level of design concept.
This was pleasant. I went back to seek out the vortexes, as Beryl described them. My viewer wasn't showing it too clearly, but I did see some of those. ---- And, of course, the sound of water wants to move nature on through me, so....errr......blush.....if you'll excuse me for a moment...........
Gerry - water has always fascinated me and while I have noticed vortexes, I never understood what brought them into being. You have deepened my understanding with your companion article and for that I am most grateful.
Thanks to everyone who watched this. I'm sorry that the Gather system does not support the intense detail of the original video. I hope that I can find a way to show much more in future videos.
Gerry, I had been having a lot of trouble with my CPU and some of Microsoft's software. My system did crash and I had to re-format to restore my operating system. I chose to use Firefox as my browser. Right now, this little clip showed up beautifully and I can see all those little vortexes. How wonderful!
