“Hurry it up!” This photo was taken a while back. The coons and possums clean out the cat food at night. The cats are waiting at the door in the morning for more food to be put out.

Can I borrow a couple? They'll be cutting the barley from the field just over my back fence anytime now. That's when the fieldmice come inside to keep warm, lol.

I'd love to, but I already have two dogs, big, brave boys they are, who run squealing when next doors cat comes on our yard and hisses at them!! But I couldn't afford to feed any more animals, unfortunately, or I would have a cat.

Yes, I did. She was the mother of Scarlett, Marcus Aurelius, Lucius, Claudius and Tasha. It was a planned pregnancy. We borrowed a friend's cat, a long hair black and white. He did a nice job.

We have always had cats. My current "pride" consists of Gaius Marius, Tiberius and Cornelia Scipionis Africana. They are all rescues (strays). Marius came neutered and front declawed. We would never declaw a cat. For Tiberius and Cornelia, we took advantage of our vet's population control discount. That saved a lot on their neutering and spaying.

Can't you do anything about the coons stealing the food? Maybe put it in a special kind of bowl that has a cover of some type on it? Like the kind they have to keep squirrels out of the bird food?

LOL! I once had two female cats, neither one was spayed and it wasn't long after they became adult cats that they "both" had kittens at the same time. Six kitty cats each (12 kittens - Wow!). That's when I learned that spaying your female cats was a good idea (LOL). Neutering the male cats will keep them from roaming off and producing more just like himself.
