texas bluebonnets,lady bird johnson wildflower project,texas,bluebonnets
Our beautiful Texas Bluebonnets are blooming. My grandchild is surrounded by them. Many years ago Lady Bird Johnson had our state highways sowed with Bluebonnets seeds (the state flower of Texas) and every spring we are rewarded with amazing bluebonnet displays.

I remember flying into Houston in early April one year to attend a trade show with my husband and the grassy fields between the runways were filled with blooming Texas Bluebonnets...it was a glorious sight!

I am too...I wanted to run out of the plane and stroll through the fields between the runways...unfortunately we had to de-board through one of those tunnel thingys... ;-)
