My eight year old son Tommy has a dream to be in the Army. He patrols my living room; he rides his toy jeep around my yard and talks on the radio to his fellow soldiers. It is not a once in a while thing, but something he does every day. If I take him to the beach, he makes army bases instead of sand castles. Maybe he will grow out of this. Maybe he won’t. In the meanwhile, my house is well patrolled. Soldiers are his super heros.

My brother was a little like that when he was a kid, but he wanted to fly for the military....now he's a Navy pilot. You just never know. A lot of kids I know that played soldier ended up going to the military academies and getting a great education.

Hello USA from France !
My son (I'm a father) have a dream : join the (french) army. The action and also the big figure of his grand-father (general) explains that. I was also attracted by the army at the same age (13) but now, I'm a quiet consultant behind his laptop and very happy of that !
I just want to say that : on my opinion, it's important to let the dreams go ahead and not interfere : let the things be done or not. Like a river...
