G. Munson" waiting to pick up a load of stone at the Quarry.
We saw her loading when I was there in August. Nice photo!
I'm amazed at how the locals here can look out to the horizon and tell what ship is approaching from afar.
We just had a three ship pile-up this last storm in the St Mary's river.
One ship ran aground, the ship behind them tried to go around and put a gash in the hull. The third ship was only delayed because of the bottleneck.
I heard the first ship that got stuck in the mud was over 1000 feet long and 115 feet wide.
Lately, as the season has wound down, more and more of the captains and crew have been in my local bar, telling tales of the last season.
I feel so blessed to have landed in this small town.
I've been here for only 11 months and I have more friends than I've had my entire life.
Hope to see you when you come to town in 2010 !
