I got them from a poultry farm...free and frozen...two bags full.

some people eat them too, i seen them roasted at the market they were hot and ready to eat (ick) i can see making stock off them but not chewing on one, I should get some and cook and then set them out side for the neighbors cats to carry to their houses LOL might make for some interesting talk around here. Ive also seen them dried for dogs to eat like chicken jerky

My little story of chicken feet: I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Thailand. I was sitting at an outdoor restaurant eating food. As usual, I didn't know what it was. It was twilight, but it occurred to me to take a good look at what I was gnawing on.

Yes, it was a chicken foot. Between my fingers. In my mouth. Chewing.

I gave a little scream and threw it across the table. Make a spectacle of myself. >:-{

ya they will close and open if you grab the right ones LOL played with them as a kid when were would put a flock in the freezer

great cheap way of getting stock. poultry farm. i don't think we have any in this part of the state, would have to travel a few hundred miles. We have only one major produce farm, Wilson's, used to buy half a bale of hay for the rabbit and guinea pig....

You must have met my G'ma! She made me pluck those birds and then gather all the feet (we are not talking about necks, heads and gizzards) and fill the pots with water for her stock. Oh, it used to make me nauseous but her stock was the best I've EVER eaten. She never wrote down a recipe so I've had to "wing" it...hahahaha.

Oh, dear! I just had to enlarge this pic from the small one to make sure I saw what I suspected. Too up close for MY chicken soup, those toe nails, but I'll take your word on the goodness of it. But I used to make ox tail soup - delicious.
