I love beautiful old barns and this is certainly a beautiful old barn. My sister, cousins and I spent many a night sleeping on hay bales up in that loft! Lots of wonderful memories at the sight of a barn. Guess that's why I love em!

I do to Barbara, when I see an old Barn or House, that has perished in time from age, I can visualize a person's life which works in the same manner.

That's exactly why we, as photographers, should capture them for posterity. Some folks DO like to view our real history, in photos.

I agree very much. I hate to see all the great "old" features of America being torn away to create things that we don't need just to earn an extra buck. This doesn't always apply to what I like to call "rustic" barns. Yet look around and you will see the heart of America being turned into an amalgamation of money snatchers disguised as "necessities".

Years ago I saw a new home built in our area and when I met the wife of the family she took me on a tour. I thought they had stained all the wood inside and out to make it look old but she told me a friend had raized an old brn and they salvaged all the lumber. It was a beautiful house. She told me they saved on taxes somehow because it was old wood. I don't know how that works?
