History:
Zhalah was born to an angel couple just before the birth of the Prophet Muhammad in Pagan Arabia. Her parents trained her to use her powers from very early age and prepared her as a guide for the prophet. She aided Muhammad and his family, especially his daughter Fatimah. Zhalah tried her best to help Fatimah, but the males of the land twisted the word’s passed on by Muhammad and made women the property of men.

Many years later during an attempt to help a woman survive a brutal attack by a group of men, Zhalah was mistaken as a demon and cursed by the woman’s mother. To make the demon pay for what she did to her daughter, the old woman locked Zhalah’s wrists in Jinn cuffs and put a curse on her to serve as a Jinn, a person with powers that they cannot use for themselves. Zhalah became trapped in a silver lamp, only summoned out as the person possessing the lamp called her forth.

In the centuries since, Zhalah has served many masters. Most of them are materialistic and only seek to use her powers for their own benefit. Some were more clever than others by setting up events to make their need for wishes obsolete; these people would then sell or hide the lamp. This led to Zhalah’s leap-frogging through time.

Zhalah currently lives in Manhattan with a person, who barely deserves the term “person”. Bishop Lane was a low level, black-market fence who came across Zhalah’s lamp while smuggling artifacts out of Baghdad during the war. Lane has used Zhalah’s powers to become a black-market king. He has used his new influence to delve into all sorts of illegal activities including funding BOSS’ attempts to exterminate the Others, Other’s trafficking for DSM to gain experimental bodies, and more.

Zhalah mourns her role in this but is trapped due to the curse placed on her. She is unable to deny the wishes made by her keeper. The only wishes she cannot grant relate to controlling the will of another being or killing a being. Because her keepers need her, Zhalah does not fear speaking her mind and being a bit of a brat. Having been cursed at such a young age, she never truly grew up completely and can act very much like a child at times. Over all, Zhalah is fun-loving and would be happy if not for the things she is forced to do.
