Truth is not something you can hold in your hands. Its existence is based on a process of eliminating every other possibility. Any type of lie can and often is defended to some measure. But in the grand summation of all things, truth will outlast and outweigh all other explanations of reality.

I wouldn't say that. Though I think you're a special lady who stands behind her convictions, I have to say that something you profess requires these qualifications isn't on my to-read list.

Shannon, I thank you kindly, however pls understand that I am NOT a special anything or anyone... I am a sinner and no different than you or any other person except that I am forgiven and born again.. God doesn't require our qualifications. If so, I surely would have missed the boat altogether and found totally lacking! What he does require is simply our realization of our own sins and shortcomings in His sight and the lost state that we are in and our need for and acceptance of our Savior, His Son, God in the flesh, Jesus Christ........ He requires us to aknowledge our precarious standing, ask Him for forgivness and invite Christ into our heart and life, then repent (turn away) from the sins that He convicts us of and live our lives in Him and for Him..... He does it all and from the inside out..... It's NOT our doing or our transformation......It's God's..... Although God loves us so dearly, He is first and foremost a Holy God and will eventually judge man's rebellion and unrightesness.. That is the tribulation that is soon to come upon the earth... The tribulation, the awful wrath of Almighty God, will be poured out upon this earth and upon all those who have and still do reject Christ and who will not have anything to do with the loving God ruling over them or their lives.

The truth of Christianity rests completely on Jesus. Not on who we are or what we do or don't do........ The gospels are the written accounts of Jesus' life and deeds, by eyewitnesses. Jesus said that He alone was the way to the Father in John 14:6, that He alone revealed the Father in Matt. 11:27 and Luke 10:22. Jesus is God in John 8:58 and Exodus 3:14, who forgave sins Mark 2:5 and Luke 5:20 and 7:48, and who rose from the dead in Luke 24:24-29 and John 2:19-21. Jesus said that He was the only way.

In the second chapter of Hebrews and third verse we have one of the greatest questions that God ever asked man. "How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation?"

I couldn't say I'm in the group of questions.
But, I can say I know what type of book I choose to read.
I only read romance.
Because everything else is not my cup of tea.

Angela, do you find the Bible to be your cup of tea? Worthy to be read and studied? If not, then I beg you to get your priorities in order, my friend...... Your romance novels will not help you in any way if you are left behind to endure the tribulation.......

It is, Beth....... Thank you! It's definantly a very different reading experience. And one that I pray may encourage more folks to turn to, open and read THE book, which of course is the Bible...

Hmmmm, think I need to get this one! Well, I'm one who loathes romance books.....eeyuck....I see no purpose in them, myself! I love to read, but books that challenge my mind!!!!! Just finished a fantastic one on Lincoln (I did a book review here!)....wonderful photographs. This sounds like a book to really challenge one's mind and thinking!

Sandy I love the way you answered Shannon, so gentle and all truth with the Bible to back you up. There is a great tribulation coming, I pray people will open their hearts to the truth. I believe it is coming sooner than later. As a born again Christian myself I want to know all of God's truth, which I will be working on for the rest of my journey here. Please hear as Sandy said we are only forgiven sinners no better than anyone else. Saved only by grace. We owe it all to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He alone is righteous. This does sound like a great book and I love the picture.

Randi, my friend... Thank you for your kind words and Godly wisdom shared with us ........ So often, I get so concerned and anxious about folks and all the horrible things that are being done these days that I can come off as being overly critical and judgemental.. Sin HURTS.... It hurts God and it hurts me and it hurts everyone!! it's power can and will destroy lives and eternities!! However, I don't believe the Lord appreciates my attitude at times, despite any good intentions behind it.....The bottom line is this... Changed behaviour can ONLY come about from a brand new and changed heart...... The Lord is the one who changes the hearts of those who need and seek Him. All we can do is give them His word, His truth and point them in His direction. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.......... The choice then to accept, reject or ignore is then up to the individual......
