Today's yard sale and Goodwill book finds. The dark hardbound book is "Home to the Wilderness" by Sally Carrighar, a beloved title. Years ago, I gave away my copy, so I'm very pleased to have found another. OOPS--I forgot to include a 1963 movie tie-in edition of "Gone With the Wind"...

The author of "Sacred Attention" is in the haiku group. The author of "Women in the Garden" lives in Port Townsend. "British Columbia Calling" got sent off for my sister's birthday (with whom I went to Vancouver). "Historical Atlas of Ancient Rome" got sold online. "For the Love of a Child" went to a Gather friend. I"m going to pull out the "Seaside Verse" again for a read. I find amazing books at the thrift stores. Just yesterday I found Jhumpa Lahiri's first collection of stories, "Interpreter of Maladies."

It is really good. Jhumpa is good in it and better in Namesake.
Amitava Ghosh's Glass palace and Sea of poppies are a must read to understand Bengali.

I will look for those. Lahiri really knows how to tell a story. Though I am probably too old to fully appreciate hers.
