Thanks Kat. I finally took the plunge today and ordered the upgrade to picnik. It is only $24.95 a year. So I hope to be doing more with it now that I can.

I'm debating about the membership for myself.  The only time I alter my photos is for Alter Your Pics or Zoomit.  I'm trying to set aside money to upgrade my camera so I'm trying to be frugal about certain things.

I only alter for the contest on here also. How can you upgrade your camera, your pictures are wonderful? Isn't it pretty new also? I did it because we have been having so much rain here that it is hard to get out and take pictures. I needed something to do at home when hubby is working in the evenings. It gives me more to play with. Did you see the altered blue rose I posted today with the upgrade?

I love my camera and yes, I've only had it six months but the imager is small and it causes the majority of my low light or shade shots to be blurry.  I've changed the aperture to the largest number and still get bad low light shots.  It's frustrating.  I've even missed some beautiful sunset shots because this problems.

I take my sunset shots on automatic. The only time I really change my settings is when I take pictures of the moon I take them on a manual setting and keep adjusting to get a clear picture. I have not been able to get good shots if I want trees and clouds in my moon shots though. Your macro shots are beautiful. I can't take people shots good indoors. The colors are always off no matter what setting I use. What type of camera are you thinking of getting?

I've been looking at the Canon Rebel.  The body is very similar to the one I have now so the feel will not change much.  Lisa C. has one and she is getting so awesome shots.  They only drawback is that I will need to buy lenses seperatly.

I loved the feel of the Canon also. They are very comfortable to hold and position. Lisa C. takes beautiful photos. I think if I remember right that the canon's lenses are pretty expensive. I have a shower to go to tomorrow and hope that I can get some good shots for the girl. I am going to try and change the lighting setting on my camera to see if that helps with people shots. I know when I use mine in my daughters house they come out terrible, everything has a yellow glow to them and I can't figure out how to not get that. I have to always use the flash there and then I get glows on my pictures. I just bought some filters to put on my Sony, but I am not real sure how to use them yet. Maybe they will make a difference.

Does your camera have light settings like daylight, cloudy, tungsten etc?  Mine does and I have found that using the tungsten or the flash setting inside gives me truer color without the yellowish tint.

Yes Kat I have some of the settings. I have sunny, cloudy, incandescent , Florescent but I forget to set them. I also have red, green, blue, and vivid filter in the camera. But again they are settings and I forget to use them. I don't know if I will ever use the external ones but my son gave me a small gift card to amazon so I bought them. I should go outside today and try them since we finally have some sun today.

C.L. The alter made the colors much more vibrant. The frame added shadows to the edges.
