God has placed the utmost importance upon His words........ The spiritual life-blood of the human race is the word of God.................. It brings salvation: "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God. . ." (1 Peter 1:23) It produces faith: ". . . faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17). It produces spiritual growth: ". . .desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:" (1 Peter 2:2) 2 Timothy 2:9, reads, " . . . the word of God is NOT BOUND." Anybody can freely print, distribute, and reproduce the King James Bible, without asking anybody for permission! All other translations are "bound" by © copyright laws. New American Standard, - copyright© Lockman Foundation, New International Version - copyright© New York International Bible Society, New King James Version - copyright© Thomas Nelson Publishers. Who with a brain, would seriously think the word of Almighty God is "BOUND" by copyright laws? IF YOU HAVE A KING JAMES BIBLE YOU HAVE THE WORD OF GOD! And don't let anybody take it from you! Dr. Frank Logsdon was co-founder of The New American Standard Version. As people begin confronting Dr. Logsdon on some the NASV's omissions and errors. He re-examined the evidence and this was his verdict: "I must under God denounce every attachment to the New American Standard Version. I'm afraid I'm in trouble with the Lord . . . I wrote the format . . . I wrote the preface . . . I'm in trouble; . . . its wrong, terribly wrong; its frighteningly wrong . . .The deletions are absolutely frightening . . . there are so many . . . Are we so naive that we do not suspect Satanic deception in all of this?"~ Dr. Frank Logsdon Co-founder, New American Standard Version Please read and learn more at ATTACK ON THE WORD

NO WONDER PEOPLE ARE CONFUSED! Other versions of the Bible take out: Romans 16:24, Mark 11:25, Acts 15:34, Luke 23:17, Acts 28:29, John 5:4, Mark 7:16, 9:44,46 and many more as your Bible is literally cut apart!
Preachers, by the thousands, will stand weekly in the pulpit and "correct" your King James Bible by saying, "This is an unfortunate translation" or "a better reading would be" or "this word in the 'Greek' can also be translated. . ." Friend, where is the Lord God? The One that "spoke" the worlds into existence - can He not preserve His word as He promised in Psalm 12:7 and Matthew 24:35? Did God Almighty NOT know what He was "inspiring"? Does the Lord need these "Bible correctors" to "help" Him "straighten-out" His word? Please click on the link provided and learn more, friends....
The Bible I have says: Luke 8 chapter 11and12: Now the meaning of the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
Those along the traveled road are the people who have heard;then the devil comes and carries away the message out of their hearts, that they may not believe (acknowledge Me as their Savior and devote themselves to Me)and be saved [hereafter].
Which Psalms is this open to? Very interesting ... I had not even noticed the other versions were copyrighted.
PS: Love it as your Icon!
Most of the versions of the Bible copyright their work because of the work of translation, which in itself is interpretation. Most of them are relatively recent, so they have not yet passed into the public domain. The KJV is different because it was translated so long ago.
However, in the U.K., the KJV is under the perpetual copyright of the Crown, "The Queen's Printer". That is also in effect in Canada.

I see........
Hi Sandy
Well I use 20 bibles for study ) . But I was surprised to learn that in the original text of the bible the word "slave" was used 130 times. In the KJ it's used twice.
Romans 1:1 (KJV)
1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,
The servant should be slave. A servant can be a hired hand. and this scripture below has a lot more meaning to me when slave is used like it should had been used.
Luke 16:13 (KJV)
13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Only few Bible translations use slave.
I use these most of the time KJ NKJ NIV NASB NLT.
Now if you use a good study bible you can find notes most of the time why certain words were left out or included. All I know is the bibles I have used have helped get me this far ) by the grace of God .
I hope everyone is doing wonderful.
Thank you Scott.. We all are well and wonderful by God's grace......
Thanks Katherine.. The enemy is clever for sure..... I was not aware of the subtle variations in the different translations that can actually change the entire scripture verse's meaning!.....
It's open from the 23rd to the 26th Psalms.....
I haven't really read other versions of the bible. So, I'd have to take your word for it.
Interesting. I guess all translations are to a degree an interpretation of the original text. To what degree that interpretation moves away from the original, will, I expect, depend on the motives of the interpreters of that text.
I see your point, Terry. In this case, the motives were good, just in error through deception by the enemy...... The co-founder of the NASV realized later just what he had been party to.........
Dr. Frank Logsdon was co-founder of The New American Standard Version. As he began to be confronted on some the NASV's omissions and errors. He then re-examined his work and this is what he had to say............
"I must under God denounce every attachment to the New American Standard Version. Frank Logsdon Co-founder, New American Standard
It helps to read the Bible in the original language, as I do. That leaves less room for errors.
I'm sure it would, Maurice..... Thank you
As Dr. Frank Logsdon said, "Are we so naive that we do not suspect Satanic deception in all of this?" Beware of those who place themselves above God.
HOOTSY BOOTSY Simon!! Thank you my friend......
I also prefer to read the New Testament in its original Greek. I don't know enough about Hebrew and its structure to be able to make much comment on the Old Testment. My ex-wife and I used to joke that she did the Old Testament (her major was "Jewish and Modern Isreal Studies" at Moody Bible Institute) and I did the New Testament (my major was Bible Theology and Pastoral Studies). We were perfect compliments for each other.
If you read the Word in its original language(s), you'll see that the King James translators made their own errors in the translation, and that some of the English words they chose had slightly different meanings in that time.
In the first century, scribes copied the manuscripts over and over in order to preserve them. Some scribes were less than perfect (just think how hard it is to copy a page of text, never mind a book). When the King James translators were working, they only had a few copies of the manuscripts. Now we have more; over the last four hundred years, we've found lots of pieces of copies (none of the originals surivived, even for King James). That's why some of the versions have verses "taken out". (They are still there, just in footnotes explaining: "some manuscripts include...")
Lots of info there I didn't know for sure! Thanks Ian...... I can only read English but believe strongly in my heart and spirit that the KJV is as accurate from God as we have need of and that the Lord has protected his Word throughout history for His children......
I must say... since we do not have the original documents, we all have to trust that God has protected His Word. Going back to the original Greek is NOT going back to the original documents. Some look God's activity as only including the original scribes who recopied the manuscripts, most include the men who chose the books and separated them from other candidates (like the Apocrypha), some look at that as extending right up to the translators (such as the King James translators).
The Catholic Bible has more books than the protestant versions, which came later. I think the important thing is not which bible we read, but that we do read the word and put it into practice. Except in the case of Bible scholars, translation language is not worth hair-splitting. Let's remember the focus of Jesus' message: "Love one another as I have loved you."
From what I am learning Jan, it's all making sence. The wording in the Bible is extremely important! I've never read a Catholic Bible so I am in ignorance there but I did not know that the King James Bible is the only English Bible in the world that has the command to "study" your Bible! 2 Timothy 2:15, "study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" - has been changed in every English Bible except the KJV..... and that since 1880 over 200 different translations have appeared? Most people, as have I, believed the different versions were basically the same and that the newer versions were just "harmless" updating of words and made easier to understand. However, futher study reveals much much more! In Philippians 2:6, The KJV again, clearly declares the deity of Jesus Christ...... "Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God" The new translations completely re-word the verse to deny the deity of Jesus Christ! The NIV, RSV, NASV, NRSV, NKJV etc. reads, "Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped." And, In Isaiah 14:12, the new versions removes his mask. The King James reads, "How art thou fallen from heaven, O LUCIFER, son of the morning!. . ." The NIV, NASV, NRSV etc. reads, "How you have fallen from heaven, O MORNING STAR, son of the dawn. . ." The new per-versions change "Lucifer" to "morning star" and according to Revelation 22:16, the "morning star" is the Lord Jesus Christ! Many times they change "hell" to "grave" or "death", but the word "hell" is far and few in the new versions! Like Psalm 9:17: in the King James reads, "The wicked shall be turned into HELL. . ." The NIV, reads, "The wicked return to the GRAVE. You see what I mean? This is serious, not merely a play on words.... The new translations change the very meanings of the words God used!
The King James Bible in Luke 11:2-4, reads, ". . .Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil." Incredibly, the NIV, NASV, NRSV, etc. take out: "WHICH ART IN HEAVEN. . . ." Heaven is completely removed!
I've definantly got lots more studying to do about this. But it sure makes more sence to me now why there is so much confusion...
Changing translations do make things confusing. Bible scholars are constantly examining, researching and correcting old translations. I have never heard or seen the Lord's Prayer with the reference to Heaven.
Here are some examples of differences in translation:
Luke 2:14 "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." KJV
Luke 2:14 "Glory to God in the heavenly heights, Peace to all men and women on earth who please him." The Message
Luke 2:14 "Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests." Catholic Bible
Clearly, there is a difference between "peace and good will toward men peace on those on whom his favor rests" In order to have peace, we must be of good will; peacemakers and believers.
I still maintain that knowing the word - quoting chapter and verse - is not as important as living the word. Keeping the Ten Commandments and Jesus' new commandment: "Love one another as I have loved you" is the way to peace on earth and eternal life.
I still maintain that knowing the word - quoting chapter and verse - is not as important as living the word.
How are you going to tell people about Jesus the Christ? Apostle Paul quotes scripture all through the Bible to tell us and folks of his time about Christ and Christianity. I am sorry but it makes no sense not to quote scripture.
Hebrews 4:12 (NIV)
12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Isaiah 55:11 (NLT)
11 It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.
I'm not saying don't quote scripture, only that it is more important to LIVE the word of God than to know chapter and verse numbers. There is a beautiful hymn that says "They'll know we are Christians by our love." Teaching by example makes a stronger impression that simply spouting words.
According to Catholic teaching, Paul was actually a disciple. There were twelve apostles who were chosen by Jesus during His life. Others, such as Paul, were called by Him later and are called disciples. Whether we call him apostle or disciple means less than knowing his writings and living them. He is one of my favorites, too. His writings must have opened many hearts.
"Hootsy-bootsy" to you too Sandy!
I really like most of the thoughtful conversations here. Here are thoughtful people seeking understanding, clarity, and purpose in search of truth. Good people having a meaningful and productive conversation that can benefit us all.
I have so many versions its silly.
The bible can be so confusing, I read Psalm 91 and that helps me cope with all my fear. Just sharing. Thanks for reading this short and probably not what you all are talking about post. Annmarie
It's exactly what is being talked about! Thank you Annmarie.... Here's another verse you may draw comfort from.. "Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward [man] is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding [and] eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen [are] temporary, but the things which are not seen [are] eternal," 2 Corinthians 4:16 - 18. As born again Christians we already know this world is not our permanent home, but nonetheless it's still hard to watch as our temporary home implodes from within. The Bible tells us that Jesus will never let His bride get bloodied. In other words, we will never suffer the wrath of God that we see described so thoroughly in the Book of Revelation. Christ's Church will be taken out of the way before God's wrath comes upon the earth. God is in control, no matter what may seem to the contrary. Everything happens for a reason. "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding." Proverbs 3:5. "The God of my rock; in him will I trust: [he is] my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence," 2 Samuel 22:3.
The good 'ol days, so to speak, are disappearing quickly, since this president has been elected. Christians wonder why America doesn't appear to be in Bible prophecy? I agree with more learned believers that the US will be reduced to the status of a third world country....... and futher, happen in warp drive with this presidencey. There are reasons for this but most just look the other way. First, the U.S. will turn its back on Israel , (foolish decision) and second, immorality will flourish along with all the side issues that go along with that choice such as abortion, homosexuality, same-sex marriage, pornography, sexual abuse of young children to name just a few. These reasons will then encourage God to remove His supernatural protection from our nation, from where it's been in place for the past two-hundred plus years.
Hold fast to the faith, my friend and keep looking up for your redemption is surely drawing near.
My husband of 19 years is Jewish. We brought our son up Christian. My husband's uncle who is very rich said to my son that he would pay to have him make his bar mitzvah. I think I spelled it correctly. He told my son that all his rich relatives would come and my son would make lots of money. My son said would I have to give up Jesus. My husband's uncle said yes. So my son said. Forget about money when you have Jesus you have everything. I believe that this was in 2005. I was so proud of my son. When he would answer me back when he was younger. I would say to him "Matthew, do you think Jesus would say this to his Mommy". It always worked. I have now a son who is 17 years old and loves the Lord. I pray for my Husband's salvation and thank God ahead everyday but so far God hasn't answered my prayer. I don't know why it hasn't happened yet but I wait for God. your sister in Christ, Annmarie
Your story gave me goosebumps of Grace, Annmarie!! And that rarely happens to me much around here... lol... God bless you and your husband and God bless that special Son of your's!! If we don't meet here on earth, I know we will be hugging when we get home! And the Lord knows your heart my friend and the burden you carry for your husband.. Trust God, pray, relax and lean on Him to see things through....... Your husband is one of God's own chosen so trust that the Lord will bring his salvation about as he knows best.......
Thanks, I just prayed and now I am reading Acts. It gave me such a wonderful feeling reading some of it. I worry what is happening to the USA but when I was reading acts I was assured that God is in control so why worry!!! Have a blessed weekend, Annmarie:)
I again must say that I really like most of the thoughtful conversations here. Here are thoughtful people seeking understanding, clarity, and purpose in search of truth. Good people having a meaningful and productive conversation that can benefit us all.
Annmarie, I also loved the story you told about your sons wisdom. God Bless and Good Light to you and your family always.
My Pastor taught me how to tell how one could tell if the Bible was right or not....one was about what the Bible said about deacons....how I wish I remembered the rest. However, I trust the King James and no other.
