newport,dock,boat,lobster boat,jolly roger,off season
A local lobster boat at the State Pier. The clutter is deliberate, as is the Jolly Roger. The working boats at the State Pier will soon be surrounded by pleasure boats, and this dock is the fishemen's way of flipping the bird at the Sunday sailors.

Roy, this is such an interesting photo. I like the details, the red bobbers or buoys of some sort and there are more of them in different colors on the dock uprights. I like the name, too. The "Seamule" sounds like a hard-working boat.

I think of my dear friend Debbie who used to work on one of those boats. Where is she now - I thought of her when I saw this totally delightful picture. Thank you Roy - good capture of a true working boat. Salud
