This was taken on W. 71st St. in Manhattan, probably in 1974 or so. That was my favorite jeans jacket, and one of my purple turtleneck sweaters. My uncle gave me real Korean War-era military patches to decorate the jacket with. The original photo has my best friend, who was considered the "pretty boy," in it. I had the best of times, during the worst of times. It's also interesting to compare those times with today. Today's 12-year-olds are living in a different world, but how much different are they than we were 25 years ago?
