I'm not about to tell someone what they can and cannot spend their own money on. If she were using taxpayer money to pay for it, or if she were going on these shopping sprees while on government assistance, then I'd have a problem with it. The Obama campaign would be wise not to go anywhere near this.

I agree with you Jeff... it's totally up to the RNC if that's where they want to spend their money. I would think that something like this leaking out just looks bad, especially when you're trying to position yourself as the non-elitist-Joe-the-Plumber-Tito-the-Builder campaign. It's just like Edwards and his ridiculously expensive haircut. It just undercuts the image they're trying to project about themselves.

Yes, I know, it must be stressful knowing that you're about to lose because of Sarah Palin. Yeah, she was a novelty to the public for a week or two. Then she proved herself an utter moron when it comes to policy. Sarah Palin is a marketing tool, nothing more. It's quite obvious to every objective observer (even Karl Rove for chrissakes!) that picking her had everything to do with targeting votes, and very little to do with governance. And now? She's scared off the middle, and McCain will lose.

You can spend all the money you want trying to make that turd shine... but she's still... you know.

I thought she was more savvy and self-preserving to than to let them do that to her. People liked that she was a hockey mom--now she looks like a hypocrite. Donated to charity or not, it's a money loser and it takes away from her credibility.
