Merthy is one of several students I train. When asked how much do I charge for, "boxing lessons" I tell people, "No charge, just show up!" Merthy is 59 years old and continues to show up for regular martial arts lessons. He runs faster backwards then I can run forward! I told him since I'm no runner I have to stand and fight. I get a number of boxers interested in working out but I tell them upfront, JKD isn't boxing, it's skillfull street fighting where anything goes. Akron Beacon Journal Aug. 6th, 2008

A lady friend of mine found a clearer photo on Ohio.com but I couldn't find it at the time I decided to scan and publish this one.
