Sorry I didn't do what you asked me to do, but since you didn't buy anything I thought I would put in my two cents, i say go light, I think it will work with the ceilings and also the trim. Dark will make it smaller and with the ceilings being pine, my vote is light, really light. Love the new floor plan, you should put in a center island in the kitchen and have chairs on one side of it.
