MY WEDDING TIARA!! In planning my wedding outfit (the outfit for the cerimony Walker and I are going to have in a few months, since we ELOPED and no one was here that we knew), I was very careful to make it as PERSONAL as possible. I refused a veil or anything that COVERED my head, because I did not like the Bible verse about a woman covering her head as a symbol of her submission to her husband. On the other hand, I liked the look of some kind of "decoration," and my head piece was just one more way to be creative. Here's how I did it. The tiara represents the fact that only my hair is slightly decorated. My head will not be covered. the jewelled look of the tiara blows a hole in the whole modest woman thing. I am not a vain woman, but I didn't want to look like a woman who was about to submit to her husband either, so I decided to choose something rather flashy. Besides, if I draw ATTENTION TO MY HEAD, won't that show that I am my own head? The HEART represents one love (one heart, one love), and is also very very DANISH. Hearts are very important in Danish culture. That single Danish heart that represents one loe is also in memory of Mormor and Morfar (my Danish maternal grandparents) who met 70 years ago in '38, married in '41, and died in '04 and '07 respectively. From the time they met until they were parted by death was 66 years, their marriage lasted 63 years. What better representation of a new marriage than a heart placed in a prominent place, representing a marriage made in Heaven, and continuing in Heaven? Also, Morfar always called me his "Little Princess" so I think a tiara is quite fitting. The rest of my outfit will be in red, an important colour in Denmark and in Canada, and also my favourite colour.

You didn't mention that we drove 135 miles to a bridal store today that's one of the biggest in the state and they didn't have what you wanted. We came home and you found precisely what you wanted on eBay in 15 minutes and won it in 20. :)
I hadn't conciously associated a heart on the head with logic, even though I was talking about it to you, at the time I was selecting which groups for my image, but you're 100% RIGHT!!!
As for how I came to find my tiara, I didn't mention that, because I was waiting for YOU to chime in, and mention it. ;-) Would you believe that I saved about $150 by buying my tiara on line? The Bridal Store's prices were outrageous!!!
I love you so much. Thanks for our wonderful day in Phoenix.

Your Favourite Wife
We did make the Russian market, but the restaurant wasn't going to open for another 3 hours (Orthodox Jews...no business between sundown Friday until sundown Saturday). Unfortunately, because we are both legally blind (even though I still have a license), leaving Phoenix that far after dark would have been very dangerous. Driving in the daytime, I can stay in my lane and quite far behind the vehicle in front of me. After dark, oncoming lights totally destroy my view of the road.
It's a shame, I can't see the road signs.
Symbolism is simply tradition. I think brides should wear what they want.

great shot also
Thought for a moment it was about the KP Frederik-Mary wedding in Denmark. Are those real diamonds?
Women's headwear, though varied in shape and style, was subject to one of the strictest regulations: no married woman could be seen in public with her hair showing. Maidens, on the other hand, were expected to have at least tops of their heads uncovered, and were free to show off their hair. The best known and probably oldest kokoshnik had a high front shaped like a crescent with rounded edges. The front of a kokoshnik is adorned with gold and pearl embroidery.
Here's a 10 for you!
Happy triple points week :)
