Great pic of the three of you! Looks like the gentlemen have really lucked out. I just got a T. Jefferson Parker book over the weekend from my brother. We're both great fans. He writes so beautifully; I actually write down passages from his books.

Oh yes, Connelly is one of my favorites too! His "Lincoln Lawyer" sold me on his writing for the rest of my life. Anyone who can start me out on a book about another smuck of lawyer, while I'm saying to myself "Who cares? This guy deserves what he gets! I don't care, I don't care, I don't care, I don't ... uh ... he did WHAT?!" And then, of course, I can't put the book down. Oh, wow, what a storyteller!

Don't tell me you know Michael Connelly too?

I only know Michael because I produce a reading series and he's read at Spoken Interludes a bunch of times, and he kind of credits my cousin, Jimmy (James Lee Burke) with his novel career getting started, so he had a predisposition to liking me because of that. I think Michael is the best working today. other than PD James, but I adore the British ones!! how wonderful to have so many of his books ahead of you. who else do you like?

Dear Delaune,

Thanks so much for your comment on the Big Sur Lighthouse staircase. I've been noticing lately that so much of our lives and dreams have a spiral pattern. Or maybe that's just me, being a slow learner? I have to go round and round until I finally get the rhythm. LOL!

I thought of you last night when I finally cracked open that T. Jefferson Parker novel that was given to me nearly a month ago. I noted on the back jacket flap:

"Alongside Dick Francis (one of my all time favorites listed above) and James Lee Burke (your cousin and soon-to-be favorite), Parker is one of only three writers to be awarded the Edgar Award for Best Novel more than once."

Wow.
