This is mostly about me playing with camera angles in a brightly lit corner table. Cooking tip: If you prep your ingredients first, you can cook like they do on tv without stopping to chop or anything. Get a few cute little bowls to make your mise en place (the fancy french term for getting your culinary act together) look good in photos, too.

You are a pro! Great idea using the bowls in prep work. How do you work the camera angle? It looks like it's right under your face.

Faith and Kevin, I was (literally) hugging the tripod. Which won't work for 499 more shots...really.

I've tried that huggin' the tripod thing: it gets messy fast. By the way, I think I have that same fork.

Great photo and tips too. I like to get little dishes just for things like that at flea markets, thrift stores and yard sales. I've gotten some great finds.

I always prep first. I started doing that when I began to cook chinese food at home. I saw Jeff Smith, the Frugal Chef, make chinese food and he said to prep it all ahead of time so that the cooking went quickly. This is what the chinese people do. So do the french (called Mise en Place). I find it makes life easier.
