I know this hurts cause I've broken 8 of my 10 toes and it hurts like crazy. I hope your foot/toe gets to feeling better really soon.

I recently did the same thing. I broke the first joint of my second toe and dislocated the other two joint of the same toe and the middle toe. Yes it does hurt like hell. Hope you heal in time for a good Christmas.

take a bit of cotton, put between that toe and the next then tape the two together.
won't hurt when you walk. Don't use too much cotton, just enough to create the normal spread between toes when standing (check your other foot.)

Get some of that first aid tape and a popsicle stick. Tape the bad toe to one of the good ones and use the stick underneath to keep it somewhat straight.

That looks just like my foot looked, I had not broken the toe, but the bone leading to the toe, have you had a doctor look at it?

haven't gone to the doctor Elsie. Our insurance sucks so I'd have to pay a $40 copay just to see the doctor, plus I have to pay 40% of the x-rays. The last time I broke a toe, they didn't even do anything for me, so I figure why waste the money

Ouch!! I have never broken a bone in my foot, but I have bruised the crap out of one in about the same place as your bruise!

the only time they do anything for a broken toe is if its crushed then they do surgery and pin it back together. Other wise its a waste of time to go. the wrap james suggested works if you dont have cotton gauze pads work too. last one i broke hurt for a year.

Oughie! That sure looks painful. Hope it's better really soon. I can imagine it would be very painful to put on shoes with that. Hope you don't have to do that. Take care and get better soon.

Try all the toes broken, a horse reared up and
landed on my right foot it was swollen so much
it hurt to take the boot off my whole foot was
black and blue. Ouchee Then had to go back to
the race track that day put a plastic bag over my
foot and pushed ot into that boot. Oucheeee! I
had to muck 4 stalls and walk the horses too.
