This awesome scene was taken on our 40-acres in Snowflake, Arizona a few years ago during the monsoon storms. We have really huge rocks that we can climb on and have a 360 degree view. The monsoons are just awesome to watch there.

Thank you Elaine, John, and Ginger. Actually I just had my digital camera set for any other shot that I would take normally. (Not set for night or anything else). No tripod either. I love taking pictures but I get disinterested if I have to actually spend the time to learn each and every detail of the camera and all the different settings. LOL. I'm really bad. I just bought another camera to replace the one that took this picture and it cost a lot more so I am having to force myself to learn at least most of the functions. I guess I'm just lucky. Besides with a digital camera I can take tons of pictures and delete the ones I don't like.

Thank you everyone. I love lightening, my mom and I used to sit out in the yard in Phoenix and watch it during the monsoon seasons. I have been way to near lightening when I fought forest fires and I still love it.

This is a marvelous shot. One night a couple of years ago we had about twemty minutes of lightning strikes from across the bay. We had never seem anything like it before.

What a beautiful picture. I remember my many travels across I-10 from Quartzsite to Phoenix and viewing the lightning shows across the desert. An amazing show and super awesome.

A few years ago in Phoenix, my terminal manager had made mention of "monsoon" season and I started laughing. She queried as to my laughter and I explained that where I had been in former years that "monsoon" meant the heavy rain season. She explained to me that in Arizona it meant that when the humidity was above (I believe she said) 30 per cent that was what they called the monsoon season. lol lol lol. Webster associates it with "rainfall"

Karen: I'm so glad you like this shot. It's not easy doing these shots but all I did was take picture after picture after picture and I just lucked out really. These were taken with my old camera. I haven't tried much with the new camera yet but I can't wait.
