No, the cats were great, but they did already have 1 Rottie that they were used to for a few years before the 2nd one. We were so happy at how sweet they were right away.

Glad you can work it out to have both the cats and the dogs. We have 2 cats and 4 dogs and they all get along.

No, he wasn't scared at all, just curious. My husband & I both wanted to cry when the cats met him for the first time, because they were surprisingly sweet & welcomed him right away.

2 dogs & 2 cats are a handful, but we have loved that mix.
3 or 4 dogs on their own would be quite a handful
[not that I'd never do it myself ;-) ]

I have a cocker spaniel and 3 cats. Kasey - the cocker - didn't like the cats to start with, but now if one of them goes "missing" for too long she goes crazy trying to find them. She loves her kitties 8)
