living,dog,life,mutts,puppies,mixed breeds,giving birth,whelping

Photo of my daughter's rescue dog giving birth to her pups. When my daughter went to work this morning there was one pup. My granddaughter was assisting the birth and when she called me there were 7 pups. When I arrived at her house there were 8 pups, and when I left there were 10 pups and the mom looked like she might be about to have another. Five pups are black or very dark brown, and 5 are a tan brindle. They look like they could be pit bull mixes. The mom appears to have shepherd and pit bull in her and who knows what else. We have no idea who the dad was to the pups. The little critters were squeeling and wiggling around, looking for a good place to hook up to eat. The mom appeared to have everything under control. I keep telling myself, "I don't want a new puppy, I don't want a new puppy, I don't want a new puppy!" But, alas, they are soooo cute! I like the tan brindle ones. Puppy sexes have been undetermined at this time.
