We had to hike to the top of a large hill/small mountain to get this shot. As you can see it was totally worth it, but it is a shot that most people who have been thee also have and it's one you can see in travel guides, etc. But, it's just such an amazing place, I love this picture. We also have the same shot over and over again with us in them!

Mr. Bill, I had planned to do the Inca Trail, but when my soon to be husband asked to tag along to Peru with me, I had to shorten the vacation and thus had to cut out the Trail. I did realize that had I done the trail, I may have had a difficult time, though, because we both got hit with altitidue sickness here and there. It's funny because I'm one of those people that thinks "I won't get any altitude sickness!" but I did. Yikes. I would still like to do the trail one of these days.

Ms. Spider Woman, whatever you do, stay the night in Aguas Calientes or at the Lodge. DOn't do this amazing place in a single day like we did. It's our one regret from this trip - that we had to rush back to Cuzco. Have a fantastic time. Peru is a wonder.

That is so awesome! I totally look forward to reading about your trip here on Gather! Peru was an amazing vacation and I hope to get back there again some day. If you can, take a bag full of small toys with you. We took about 100 Hot Wheels and passed them out to the children we saw everywhere. Some of them are so poor and live so far out in the middle of nowhere, they have only handmade toys to play with. They are amazed by the shiny packaged toys!

If you get to travel to PERU this is a MUST SEE!

We went up for 3 1/2 hours but I highly reccomend staying at the hotel at the top if you can afford it. Then you will get to enjoy this place for much longer than if you are on a short tour. :)
