Thanks, Jennifer. I am not very sophisticated about using Gather. I am glad I finally found this space to figure out how to write you back. The contest was an idea of mine that I entered in a contest to win money to try to make the ideas in the contest happen. As a cancer survivor, I am so distressed by the fact that they use pesticides and herbicides on public property so close to the river. The value of using people power to gather "weeds" and to grow useful plants just seems so obvious to me. Paul Allen controls some of that ground I think, but so does a major mutual fund company that loaned him money and then had to foreclose on him. I am also a survivor of being laid off in massive lay-offs in mental health in 2003 (I had worked as a family assistant for 9 years) and of being laid off from my jobette (Gloria Steinem's word) with my ex-husband's business after he laid me off from the 28-year marriage. Anyway, I would like to make the yoga shot into an icon, but I have not yet figured out how. Figuring out how to make the contest real rather than imaginary is another thing I would like to do, but for now, I have to finish my training to become a personal trainer. I am to get a fitness technology certificate in June, and then I need to take a personal training certification test in July.

I posted about the contest on your real estate thread. The thing that I think made it on-topic for that thread is that City Repair things do add value to property in Portland, in my opinion. People like to see the quirky clay benches and community saunas and things. Maybe I was supposed to respond here?

Yes, I love your photo. I'm presently trying to better my yoga or asanas I should say. A Swami told me we practiced diluted yoga in the West, which I'm sure most of us do. About our water conditions, I'm fearful of that; and there is so much more than just the pesticides. There is a professor where my husband works studying this. The next time I see him I'm going to ask him some questions. I think we are all on prescription drugs whether we know it or not as they are probably getting flushed into our water supply.

Hi Roberta and Dan, thanks for noticing this photo. Christopher uses antique cameras, that take a while for exposure. He set me up and backlit me. I just had to stay still for a while.
