Thanks for the great pictures. I have always wanted to tour Philadelphia and maybe find Palethorp St. and Daly St. as those are the addresses that I have for my family when they came to America.
Jastene, it is the Lliberty Bell, one of our great national symbols. The brick building behind it is Independence Hall, the building where our Founding Fathers brought forth our nation in 1776, and wrote the Constitution in 1789.
I love it. I have also been blessed to live in other places where there is great history. I hope you take every chance to travel and visit historic places.
I will leave Omaha at 6:54am and arrive in lynchburg about 6pm. I think i have about 4 hours of layovers which is good since one is in Chicago. So about 7 hours. I am a little worried about flying and being away from my son for a whole week thiough.
Hundreds of times. Both to Independence Mall abnd back home. It is a lovely walk past houses and businesses, a community garden, through Washington Square and then the back area behind Independence Hall and down to the new building for the bell.

Of course I know where Downingtown is! West on Rt. 30, or on the R5 on the Main Line! Take Nic to see the Nutcracker this month with the Pennsylvania Ballet! And the SEPTA model railroad display! And the Christmas Village and the Wanamaker's (now Macy's) Christmas Sound and Light Show! And to eat Bassett's ice cream (apotheosis of ice cream!!) at the Reading Terminal Market! A cheesesteak at Pat's! Is he of an age to enjoy the Please Touch Museum in Fairmount Park? The zoo! The Museum of Natural History with it wonerful dinosaurs! The Franklin Institute with the heart you can walk through and pretend to be a corpuscle! And the Planetarium!

I love bells.....When we moved int our new house my sister/brother in-law bought us a cast-iron bell for the front deck.....We call it our door bell.HE HE

Yes, it's a great picture. I have plenty of pictures from there. Last time I was there, people walked around dressed in costumes - clothes from those times. I wonder if they still show up?
