Is that a kitty with a turban? Yikes!! Islam comes to the pets!

*grin* The truth is that the kitty with the turban is a bit of sarcasm aimed at a poster on another board who swears on a stack of bible that her cats are telepathic and that they regularly discuss their day with her when she gets home. She also claims to speak cat, though in her case it's hardly necessary since she is convinced that her cats speak human English as well. She's gone so far as to produce wave files of her cat meowing and getting insensed when people point out that all they hear is "meow."

Well, your kitty in the turbin may only meow, but at least he looks great!

You're right of course about the turban. I wasn't even aware that Muslims wore them until one day quite a number of years ago when a member of the Muslim Brotherhood was in my office with his green one. I guess I never really paid all that much attention before that.

yeah, Muslims called emmah. It is much smaller than the turban. Only individuals who study the religion wear them.

Thanks. I knew that there was a meaning to them, but I didn't know exactly what. Very recently I was told that the black ones indicated a religious elder or teacher of some sort. I'm not sure who/what the Muslim Brotherhood actually is. The young man wearing the green turban said as little as humanly possible to me. Since I was one of the admissions officers at the college, I made it clear to him that if he wouldn't speak to me he wouldn't get admitted.

LOL! I am glad you had the power. The black one is worn by the prophet descendents, so any black emmah is actually one of his grand children. The green one is new to me? I have to find out. The white one any religous schoolar.

I adored the image the instant I saw it. A friend even made me a logo with it. I've taken it with me to many different places because it's just plain so ugly it's cute.

I should probably be a bit more honest about the reason that particular logo was created. On another message board a few years back there was this really weird middle-aged woman. She swore up and down that her cats were psychic, and that she could talk to them in cat which she did most days. She also said they could speak in human tongue and even went so far as to introduce some sound files of them meowing which she claimed was them saying all sorts of things. Thing is she's the only one who ever heard anything but meow.

I originally had this made because she really really really didn't like me. She had some delusions about me chasing her boyfriend who wasn't her boyfriend but rather a guy she'd been stalking across the Internet for literally years and who was quite content and in a very long term relationship with someone else. Rather than get into a fight with her over every stupid thing she posted, I would just add kitty there to my posts for a day or so whenever she started her raving. It tended to shut her up.
