Hahaha. No, that's what the sheep in Iceland look like. I went there for the first time in September '05. I was on a hike out in the middle of nowhere, and this sheep started walking over. I wanted to pet him but my husband would not let me.
Lynda, no--they have different wool than what we're used to seeing. It's very long. Also, it does not get much colder there than in New York in January. :)
This is a great picture. I have a similar photo from Switzerland when two sheep came to have a look at me when I was hiking. I think they're natural people watchers.

Nancy, I think they are like our sheep when they are sheared (not really skinny per se). They are special sheep and I wish I had captured the Icelandic horses on film as well as the sheep (both special). Next time I'm buying a sweater for sure! You should have seen the lovely sweaters made from these guys...

I would have just purchased the sheep!!! It's so CUTE. I just LOVE it. I wonder what the little lambs look like.
They are all like that in Iceland. It's their thick fur. Also, they are the most content sheep I've ever seen in an environment like that!
