Med care for the Wealthy and the Healthy. I saw a bit on PBS that folks without insurance are going to Mexico for their medical needs. A total hip replacement there including travel and hotel for a week. 14K LA 80K. We have the most expensive health care in the world.

Well Obama is trying to kill the fuel (down playing the jihad) with his Cairo speech and others, but once a flow is started others (terrorists) add to it creating more force behind the flow (US military response). Before the Christmas bomber Obama was hoping to ramp down the need for security now he must ramp up security even more. He must retaliate and go after the Yemen base. We are again reminded how Africa is becoming more and more the future battlefield in this conflict. Resistance and a new branch is formed.

Oh thanks for the share. I get in touch with my librarian and have the book brought in for me. I try to read a book every two weeks. Most of the time I must scan it. I have two reading modes. Slow ready and scanning. If I need to play with the information I slow read. If I need to just get it in for future info I scan it. Most people can teach themselves to do this take a phone number. You can take the phone number in as 8,5,9,7,4,4,5,8,0,4. or 859,744,58,04 or 8597445804. It is teaching yourself to learn how to take in more info at once. Going from one word at a time to 2 to 3 to a line to a page.

A lot is in data form much doesn't work in charts or graphs, some require an absurd assumption in order for you to have a picture to show like "the world is flat." You can't show a 3D object on a 2D paper without this assumption. That comes out and you spend the next hour explaining why computer mapping program requires this assumption in order to print the globe out on a piece of paper.

Dirtying up this simple model with more factors may improve the certainty of the affective outcome, but the point is lost. Just, all other factors held constant. Also CR4 is a good place as a science blog. I don't go there much any more. Too many good ideas lost such as AFIS (Air fuel Injection System) Putting myself through college I built turbine and Power plants for the summer.

We need to ask ourselves this, what would happen if there is no health bill. Well in two years 4 million more people will be without medical insurance. Wages will not keep pace with inflation and we will continue to struggle. Health Care prices will continue to go up faster than inflation. And Medicare will part B and D will fail. This is a necessary fix. This is the best time to do this fix with as many people out of work. My only beaf is that it took most of this year to get this far. Tail dragging will cost an estimated CBO 45 thousand American lives, yes lives next year. We have no trouble getting bills passed that kill folks (War appropriations), but those that can save folks from financial ruin and death take a year. That time wasted in debates and stalls could have been more productively spent on programs helping other aspects of our economy and financial reforms. All the stalling did was help out the folks that caused the problems in the first place. As Obama said 95% of the two bills are the same. Forget the 5% and get passed the 95% should be the plan.

A little math here, Stream effect model. If you take a look at options allowed to be reasonably used as flows. The most options are at the beginning once a direction is started all forces are in that direction. Say down stream a rock lies in the way (resistance) resistance creates branching flows. Well, that is what has been going on in the past eight years. Most folks don't know that Obama has in actuality inherited a five battlefield war, because of the stream effect.

Well, that time came and went and was spent in Iraq instead of Afghanistan. We have allowed the Taliban and Alkyda to use the opium to finance their war against us.
Black Water/US conspiracies plague this area especially in Pakistan. All the bombings there are being blamed on Black Water and India and not their local nut jobs who are actually doing it.
I had often warned in my writing about what was going on in Africa. It was just a matter of time. The boy was perfect didn't fit any of the current profiles used today. But we have forgotten the background of the master mind. a Saudi Prince.
We got lucky. We also must understand that there is a trade-off between security and openness. We have an open society, there are no walls around our cities. We do not have to show passports to travel from city to city or state to state in our cars. I hate to say, "as an open society we will always be vulnerable." "Fact of life in our country." We must except a bit of risk to remain free. If we allow these folks to change us it will be us that will suffer and loose.
What happened right! Whether you realize it or not something happened right on the plane. Folks on the plane subdued the would be killer. Our strength is our independence and our initiative. They didn't wait to be killed, but acted to stop him. We must realize that our last line of defense is ourselves. In a Democracy you make the people strong, not the government. In the past that meant civil defense. What can we do individually and collectively to insure our own safety.
Shades of 911, folks informed and warned, but some how the ball was dropped or message was killed. CIA get info that a Nigerian would be used to attack US. Boys father goes to consulate to tell us that he fears his son is become radicalized. Some where that info never made it to the right person's desk. Best way is walking it the top. We need to flatten our information stream. I remember reading about how Ms. Reilly's of Minn, Minn begged Washington FBI to let her open up Head 911 terrorist's computer and hack it. It was too much to get a judge to OK the hack. From what I am getting that may be the same. We still need to flatten the information stream, so one person doesn't stop us from stopping the news. Our post-911 goal should be the same as the pre-911 goal and keep things un-eventful. Keep them from making the news! We still don't have communication enablement. Line personnel can't pick up the phone and talk directly to the decision maker. If only the person at the consulate could have talked directly with the head of Homeland security. If only the CIA informant handler could have talked directly to the head of homeland security. Most layered systems are by their nature designed to filter information. Great for no over load, but as WWII, 911 and the failed Christmas bombing shows this layering of information increases the probability of something falling through our security cracks and making the news.

I have businesses and with them comes taxes and accounting. I keep good records, but last year my taxes were 23 pages long. I expect the same. Yes I am being bad today though.

CDO managers you are talking about. The Obama administration has been so busy with fires it has only just started to get after the SEC about what they are doing about them. From a NPR report about two weeks ago. the SEC hadn't even asked for their names from these firms. Given what I have heard during the Bernie Madoff Senate investigation. The current SEC Head doesn't even want SEC personnel to go to Product seminars as they could cause conflict of interest. I have gone to several Kentucky Housing Authority and Corporation seminars and at each one there were at least two folks from HUD their. How the SEC is going to keep up with new products when they don't go to new product seminars is beyond me. The CEO of Citigroup canditely said without New Federal Regulation & guide lines they (the banks) will be back doing the same as before, because there is so much pressure from board of directors to take risks and do CDO's and IMA's so they can make these profits that it will just occur again. Most CDO managers look at themselves as survivors and not bailed out and owing. Next time they will do it starter so as to place all the risk on the consumer and al the cost on the taxpayer. Like the little boy who got caught playing on his PSP when he shouldn't and just got a scolding, the next time he learns to be even sneakier. Without the necessary regulation that is what will happen. As for the SEC the more I here the more I am given the impression that the SEC is systemically flawed.

Who ever wrote the contract in the first place should be fired, because if NPR is correct in their reporting on Black Water this was the only verdict the Judge could come down with. We got rid of Black Water in Iraq, but Black Water changed its name twice in 2008-2009. First to the Z Corporation and then too United Security. Add in that Black Water is able to pay a hundred times better then the US can. Many of its ranks are former US Special Forces, Ghosts and CIA operatives. So when the Obama administration started to prosecute Chris. He made a few vailed comments and leaked some info to the press. This is called Gray Mailing. If you go after me I will make sure everything comes out! That happened in the Iran Contra trial too. Obama tried to find another security source, but because of pay scale Wackenhut and Wells Fargo Security were no match in doing security detail in Afghanistan. So under the new name of United Security (US) Black Water was given the Naval and civilian contracts. I can't wonder if Karsi wasn't referring to Black Water. When he reported that US army forces killed 8 school boys this past week. Understand that Black Water is made up of former CIA and Ghosts, so the execution style shootings could be a retaliation to the bomb killing of CIA personnel qand a warning too.

Open primaries are most of the time a good idea, but they have been used by the opposing party to derail the best person in the other party. Wisconsin 1972 McGovern won over Humphrey with help from crossover voting. There are other elections that Political Scientists point to, but this is a classic example.

How much money was spent and how long? Just to shack a finger and say bad boy don't lie. Show trial, you don' see the Obama administration doing this to George do you? Waste of our good money all it was!!!

I am glad you see that. A lot of middle class items that actually created and strengthen the middle class. How does a small inventor compete with large corporations? Public Library! Reference books! Our founding father (first four Presidents) who were the most well read generation all had their hands in starting either a college, library or museum.

Again, Primaries in most states require Party affiliations, so independents can't vote in the election that really has the greatest choice in it. So you end up with extremist views winning the day. One of the reasons for the lost of more and more moderate politicians. In both the House and Senate-State and Federal and more partisan actions.
